VENICE OPD FACTS

Residents must pay for a resident permit to park between 2 AM and 6 AM

The initial cost of each resident permit is $15.00 and soon to be $34.00 ea

A resident must live in a qualified dwelling unit (requires a kitchen)

Resident permits are only issued for vehicles registered a the dwelling unit address in the OPD

A maximum of 3 resident permits are allowed per dwelling unit

When purchasing permits for the first time, you must go to a Department of Transportation Service location weekdays between 9am-5pm

Resident permits must be renewed and paid for annually

Lost or stolen resident permits can be replaced for $5 (soon to be $11.50)

Visitor OPD permits must be purchased by resident for visitors or leased vehicles

The initial cost of each visitor permit is $10 each and soon to be $22.50

Visitor permit must be renewed and paid for every 4 months

A maximum of 2 visitor permits are allowed per dwelling unit

Lost or stolen visitor permits cannot be replaced until they expire

Guest Permits must be purchased for parties

Guest/party permits are for one day only

Guest/Party permits must be purchased at a Department of Transportation Service location weekdays between 9am-5pm

A maximum of 10 Guest/party permits are allowed

Guest/party permits cost $1 each, soon to be $2.50 each

Initial Cost for one party is $10 (and a trip to the Service Center M-F, 9-5)

Cost for one party soon to be $25.00 plus a trip to the Service Center

The Department of Transportation is mandated to annually assess all permit parking program costs and permit prices are regularly increased.

Vehicles unable to get permits will move to blocks without the OPD signs

The OPDs are being used to remove people living in vehicles from a block or an area.

Walk Streets do not have any voice on OPDs, if you consider the petitions a voice.

Parking Permits do not guarantee a parking space – they are only a "hunting license."
